Welcome to Curveball Conspiracy! This is a collaborative project where a photographer submits an image that serves as the inspiration for a story written by one our authors. The final product is a story that is a sidestep away from reality.
This project is a bit of a reboot of the original Curveball Conspiracy, conceived by Michael O’Mahoney and hosted on an ancient form of Blogger, which ran for several months in 2006 and then passed quietly into obscurity. Thanks to the marvels of Internet archiving, however, we have resurrected Curveball Conspiracy in a new location with a new look and hope to breathe new life into the project. As such, we are now recruiting photographers to provide the visual curveballs and writers who will take those images and send them in new and unexpected directions.
